Introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers |

| This workshop is an introductory level course. It will familiarize someone with basic PLC concepts and terminology. This workshop is approximately 40% hands-on but is not a complete maintenance or programming course. The information is as generic as possible while using Rockwell Automation’s SLC-500 PLC and RSLogix500 software. The concepts and exercises covered are: trouble-shooting principles, evolution of automatic controls, system hardware components, PLC usage of microprocessor memory, processor scan sequence, the three basic relay instructions, the count up instruction, the timer on delay instruction, number systems and codes, and analog input and output scaling. |
