From
the Desk of Rick Dahlstrom,
Exec. VP of Sales & Marketing:
This year marks the 100th
Anniversary of McNaughton-McKay. During the year, via our website, you
will be able to read about our heritage, as well
as the people who shaped the company. At the core, we
were built on a foundation of superior customer service delivered
through quality suppliers and outstanding employees. Those ideals
continue to drive our business 100 years later.
At no point in our history has the
company been as severely tested as in 2009. Many difficult decisions
were made, but always with the objective of keeping our customer service
at acceptable levels. If your experience with McNaughton-
McKay diminished in any way, we want to know. Either contact your local
sales representative or e-mail me at
dahlstrr@mc-mc.com.
As we look to the future, we are optimistic that the worst is behind us
and excited about emerging opportunities. This
past year we have been making great strides to diversify our business.
In the area of renewable energy we now have a
suite of suppliers that allow us to deliver a complete solar energy
solution. With our Rockwell Automation partnership,
we can provide a complete integrated production environment for the
process industries through the PlantPAx offering. Our traditional
industrial and construction markets are in need of investment and many
of you are busy planning for upgrades in the coming months. We have many
new products and services to introduce and look forward to assisting you
in your future expansions.
We know that success in 2010 can only happen because of you, our valued
customer. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you in the future
and thank you for your past support.

Sylvania LED Technology
Reduces
Energy
and Maintenance Costs
LED technology reduces energy and maintenance costs when compared with
conventional light sources. LED PAR30LN retrofit lamps are intended to
replace 50W halogen PAR30LN lamps at over twenty times the life. They
are free of UV and IR radiation minimizing discoloration and fading of
materials. These lamps are available in 3000K and 3500K CCT and work
well in all types of applications such as accent lighting,
hotels, restaurants, and offices to
name a few.
Lasting
8 times longer and with only 16 watts, LED PAR38 lamps are true
replacements for 60W halogen PAR38 lamps. These lamps offer high color
quality with enhanced deep red and skin tone rendering. They are free of
UV and IR radiation, minimizing discoloration and fading of materials.
These lamps are available in 3000K CCT and have the flexibility to work
in multiple applications: retail spaces, residential lighting, offices,
etc.

Intelligent
Industrial ETHERNET Solutions by
Hirschmann
In the future, standardized, low-cost transmission technologies such as
Industrial ETHERNET and IP will increasingly be used in the
close-to-machine process levels which were previously clearly dominated
by field bus systems such as Profibus, CAN or Interbus.
The prerequisite for this is Industrial ETHERNET components which are
able to cope with harsh factory floor conditions, and operate there
fault-free over the long term. In addition to an IP 67 switch, an
appropriately robust and compact M12 connector is required to guarantee
reliable real time transmission with high availability. At the same
time, high installation and wiring costs can be reduced by using
switches directly in the field. But this demands the appropriate
intelligent, manageable Industrial ETHERNET switches which are also able
to provide redundancy mechanisms such as HIPER-Ring or access control
according to IEEE 802.1X. With the new OCTOPUS family, the first
manageable switches at the field level, Hirschmann offers the optimum
solution. The OCTOPUS family has the necessary internal resources for
extended management by SNMP, as well as prioritization and traffic
shaping. This means that Industrial ETHERNET with extended scope of
functions can now also be used in previously inaccessible places –
without large-scale cabling.
