With
the LPK+, Alpha Gear Drives, Inc. expands its offering of right-angle
gearheads. The LPK+ follows the success of the LP+
low-backlash planetary gearhead. The LPK+ is an ideal option when
cost-effectiveness is a priority, and for a variety of servo applications that
require low to medium precision.
The sleek LPK+ comes in five sizes, with acceleration
torques up to 250 Nm, torsional backlash limited to < 10 arcminutes, and a peak
speed of 6,000 rpm. It also comes with 10 reduction ratios from i = 3 to i =
100. The Alpha rack-and-pinion system and shaft couplings are optional.

loading/unloading robots, for example). The LPK+’s planetary stage on the
output side ensure high rigidity, and the gearhead can withstand high timing
belt pretension and requires minimal installation space.
