Spectrum Controls’ Expansion of Universal Inputs Offers the Customer More Options

The options for customers looking to maximize flexibility and value from Logix-based automation systems have increased. Spectrum Controls, a global Encompass partner of Rockwell Automation, offers two eight-channel universal input modules for Rockwell’s I/O and MicroLogix controller platforms.

The 1762sc-IF8U model is an eight-channel universal analog input for MicroLogix 1100 and 1200 programmable controllers. The inputs are available in mix-and-match of eight voltage, current, thermocouple inputs, and four RTD inputs. The performance of the 1762sc-IF8U model is comparable to many existing dedicated analog modules. It’s also compatible with the RSLogix 500 programming software.

The second model, the 1794sc-IF8IU, is an eight-channel universal analog input for Flex I/O applications. The 1794sc-IF8IU is also available in mix-and-match of eight voltage, current, thermocouple inputs, and RTD inputs. It is also compatible with RSLogix 5000 programming software.

The universal modules allow users to combine voltage, current, thermocouple, and RTD inputs on one module. This eliminates the need for expensive dedicated I/O modules. Another attractive feature of the universal inputs is the ability to use multiple inputs simultaneously on one module, providing the customer with unparalleled flexibility. The universal inputs may also reduce the total cost of ownership.

Spectrum Controls is a global Encompass partner of Rockwell Automation, and all products are fully supported through Rockwell’s TechConnect program, offering peace of mind for customers wishing to enhance their investments in Rockwell Automation systems.
