Rockwell Automation’s Product Compatibility and Downloads Center
The Product Compatibility and Downloads Center (PCDC) can help you find product-related downloads including firmware, release notes, associated software, drivers, tools and utilities. Before you ever must upgrade one or more products, PCDC gives you the ability to check the compatibility between the new product and the other products in your system. There are two aspects that you can use the PCDC for. The first is to determine how different products will interact. Secondly, you can compare features and capabilities between different series of products and associated firmware versions.
For example, what if you wanted to update your ControlLogix Controller to newer software and firmware? For the sake of this argument, we will assume you have a ControlLogix 1756-L73 Series B, Version 20 controller that you want to upgrade. PCDC will help you find the most current firmware revision and the compatible Studio 5000 Logix Designer. It will step you through how to modify a comparison matrix, save the view and export it to a spreadsheet. Finally, it will show you how and where to download the firmware.
To help with this process, McNaughton-McKay has created a tutorial video that will step you through using Rockwell’s Product Compatibility and Downloads Center. Our systems engineer will show you how to download software or firmware for your Rockwell products.
