IO-Link-Enabled Devices Get You the Data that Drives Machine Productivity

8/15/2025

IO-Link-enabled devices can amplify your machines’ effectiveness and productivity. The diagnostics and data that smart devices deliver to control systems make it easier to monitor your machines’ health so you can reduce downtime, inventory and maintenance costs. Rockwell Automation® delivers products with IO-Link updates that are easily installed, configured and scaled to fit your application.

856TC IO-Link Enabled Stack Light

Rockwell Automation’s 856TC IO-Link Enabled Stack Light provides high-visibility machine status indication with advanced diagnostic and control capabilities through IO-Link communication. Its modular design allows easy configuration, real-time status monitoring, and reduced downtime in industrial automation environments.

Features & Benefits

  • Premier Integration design
  • Class B device with IP66/67 rating
  • Integrated counters for the number of times a specific module has been turned ON
  • Operation hours from the time of inception/power-up to help correlate machine availability
  • Registers vibration values above a certain threshold to detect unusual mechanical behavior
  • Open load condition for indicating a faulty installation of the light or sound modules
  • Configurable via the Rockwell Automation IO-Link master Add-on Profile (AOP)
  • Automatic Device Configuration (ADC) for fast drive replacements

1694 Electronic Circuit Protector

The 1694 Electronic Circuit Protector is a terminal block replacement that delivers NEC Class 2 protection and decreases the terminal blocks needed for the connected panel. The IO-Link capabilities enable users to proactively track the status of sensors and modules in the control system through the PLC program.

Features & Benefits

  • Minimizes electric shock hazards, protecting both wiring and loads
  • Complies with the NEC Class 2 standard for circuit protection
  • Comes with push-in terminals for faster and more secure wire installations
  • IO-Link connects to Studio 5000® design software for real-time monitoring of current and voltage levels
  • LED indicator notifies users when the load reaches the 90% current rating threshold
  • Various mounting options that require no additional accessories

ArmorBlock 5000 I/O Blocks

The IO-Link master blocks and 16-point self-configurable blocks combine IO-Link Class A and Class B ports in one device. These I/O blocks are rated up to IP69K and integrated with Studio 5000, giving users both ease of use and high performance in tough industrial environments.

  • 3 Configuration types: 16 inputs, 10 in/6 out, or 16 configurable I/O
  • Compatibility with IO-Link devices from other manufacturers
  • ADC and plug-and-play, enabling fast recoveries/replacements
  • Precision Time Protocol (PTP) for accurate timestamping
