OptixEdge from Rockwell Automation: A Unified Edge Computing Appliance

FactoryTalk® Optix™ from Rockwell Automation® is a platform that simplifies HMI/SCADA development. This visualization software can be deployed across a range of hardware, including the new OptixEdge™. Unlike traditional edge gateways that focus primarily on data collection or protocol conversion, OptixEdge is a single-device edge computing appliance that brings together production data collection, processing, visualization and secure connectivity. Instead of relying on multiple software packages or hardware appliances, manufacturers can perform real-time machine-level data processing, production analytics, containerized application deployment and secure remote access from one edge device, without needing extra add-ons.

FactoryTalk® Remote Access™ and FactoryTalk Optix runtime licenses are included with OptixEdge hardware. This combination brings together the power of faster data processing and remote connectivity that can scale across your entire enterprise. When deployed with FactoryTalk Optix, OptixEdge helps connect isolated systems, simplify data integration and enhance operational visibility while reducing system complexity through a unified edge-to-cloud architecture.
