Smarter Safety Circuits for Hazardous Locations
Intrinsic Safety (IS) product offerings from Rockwell Automation®, such as Allen-Bradley® signal conditioners and isolator barriers, convert and/or condition signals into low-energy, intrinsically safe signals that can interface with devices in hazardous areas. This highly reliable prevention method mitigates potential thermal or electrical ignition sources so that they won’t cause a spark or arc, eliminating the threat of explosions. A complete IS circuit is more cost-effective and flexible than containment mitigation techniques like flame and explosion-resistant enclosures, as these products need less maintenance, do not require special cables or hot permits, and can fit various areas and applications.
937 IS Modules
The 937 IS modules limit energy to safe levels within hazardous environments and provide an interface within the IS circuit that is electrically separated from the control system.

931 Signal Conditioners
931 signal conditioners protect control systems from transients and noise and use galvanic isolation to eliminate ground loop/noise-induced errors in process measurements.

- Quick detection response for analog signals (< 5/7 ms) and temperature measurements (< 30 ms)
